Greetings Family & Friends,
I am happy to announce that I will be running in the 2023 Bank of America Chicago Marathon (26.2 miles) as a fundraiser for the local nonprofit called Chicago Run! Chicago Run (CR) is an organization that provides running and fitness programs for Chicago children and youth and after-school running programs for our students. My goal is to raise $1,250 by October 2023! Your donations will go directly toward James Ward’s running program and the 18,000 students participating in Chicago Run after-school programs across Chicago.
Why Chicago Run? CR has partnered with JWS for over 14 years and has provided our young people with FREE inclusive running and physical activity programs. Together, we partner to empower young people with equitable access to physical activity and use running as a catalyst to transform lives. Through the power of sport, we build resilience to stress and trauma and develop social and emotional skills. CR primarily focuses on programming in under-resourced communities with limited physical activity and play access.
