Thank you to everyone visiting my page! The foundation I am extremely grateful to run for in the 2023 Chicago Marathon is "Chicago Run". This foundation is quite similar to the foundation I work for here in Charlotte, Creative Player Foundation! Both non-profits are focused on building community through sport for our amazing youth. Physical exercise is a critical part of a healthy life and being a kid is hard enough. The impact these foundations have on our children is extremely understated, when in reality they cultivate a critical sense of self-worth, accomplishment, and feeling of relevance within their own lives. I have seen first-hand how this allows them to function better academically and emotionally. In donating to this charity, you are helping Chicago Run expand their outreach in our national community. The program I am most inspired by is their cooperation with the Juvenille Temporary Detention Center, where participants inside the center (ages 12-17) are provided with shoes and training for a race held within the center. It brings me to tears, being someone who understands the healthy escape that running can provide, to know those kids are being given the same opportunity. I hope to one day see a program like that here in Charlotte. Thank you for supporting the furthering of my community-outreach, and my running career. The kids in the community would thank you too if they could, I'm sure.
