Hey everyone! My name is AJ Giesecke and for my first-ever marathon, I will be running the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon with Team Chicago Run! Since I began my college journey studying kinesiology and sports medicine, running has been my backbone. It keeps me grounded and provides a stress reliever through my busy days, which is why I believe it is so important to provide access to inclusive running and physical activity programs. Partnering with schools and community organizations is exactly what Chicago Run does. Through physical activity programs, Chicago Run promotes increased academic performance, socio-emotional development, and positive relationships in an environment that fosters growth in both physical and mental health. As a runner and future healthcare provider, I quickly fell in love with Team Chicago Run and knew right away they were who I wanted to partner with for my run. Your donation to Chicago Run will help them grow their outreach into more Chicago communities and increase partnerships with organizations such as the Chicago Park District to increase access to inclusive physical activity for children all across the greater Chicago area.
